Committed to promoting student success through leadership, character, and performance from Pre-K through 12th grade, the award-winning Jackson County School System (JCSS) spans over 300 miles and serves more than 9,000 students in six elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, and the Empower College and Career Center. With a focus on preparing its students for the future, JCSS places an emphasis on what it deems “The 7 Mindsets”: Everything is Possible, Passion First, We are Connected, 100% Accountable, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give, and The Time is Now.

Traditions of Braselton families with school-age are granted access to three highly touted institutions of learning in its system: Gum Springs Elementary, West Jackson Middle and Jackson County High Schools. Attaining an 8 out of 10 ranking from GreatSchools.org for test scores, both Gum Springs ES and West Jackson MS are clearly committed to providing that firm foundation to future academic success for all of their students. In 2017, West Jackson MS earned the designation of Middle School Model of Excellence.

And, as home of the Panthers, Jackson County High School is dedicated to excellence for the benefit of its students in all areas, including academics, athletics and extracurriculars. After first opening its doors in 1990, Jackson County High School moved to a new address for the 2021-2022 school year. Now situated at 152 Jaxco Junction in Hoschton – just two miles away from Traditions, the new high school is a sprawling 250,000-square-foot $69 million facility that boasts state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and facilities for athletics and the arts. With an estimated enrollment of 1,570 students, the new high school was funded by a combination of state funding, SPLOST receipts and monies from the school system’s general fund. It ranks at #95 among all Georgia high schools. The former address for Jackson County High School at 1668 Winder Highway in Jefferson now serves as the Empower College & Career Center, which provides exciting growth opportunities for students from Jackson and East Jackson High Schools.

All three JCSS schools that serve Traditions of Braselton receive high marks from students and parents alike through the assemblage of an exceptional administrative and teaching staff and their adoption of Jackson County School System’s Strategic Goals: To provide a quality academic experience; To personalize the learning experience; To prepare students for the future; and To value and promote school, parent and community relationships.
